Lady Pill Reminder · Effective July 3, 2026
This policy covers the Lady Pill Reminder mobile app, operated by Ben Basha ("we"). Contact: ladypillreminder@benbasha.com.
What the app stores on your device
All data the app creates is stored locally on your device only (in an on-device database and key–value store). It never leaves your phone:
- Your pill pack setup: pack type, start date, and the active/placebo (sugar pill) day pattern
- Your taking history — which pills you marked as taken, and when
- The reminder time and repeat settings, and any private notes you add to a day
- App settings, language, and the notification text you choose
- Whether the one-time "remove ads" purchase was made
We cannot see any of this — it is on your device, not on a server. Deleting the app, or using "clear all data" in the app, permanently removes it.
Advertising (free version only)
The free version shows ads served by Google AdMob. The app requests non-personalized ads only, meaning ads are not tailored to a profile of you. Even so, to serve, cap and measure ads and to prevent fraud, Google may collect and process:
- A device advertising identifier (Google Advertising ID on Android / Apple IDFA on iOS)
- Your IP address, from which an approximate (coarse) location is derived
- Basic device and diagnostic information and ad-interaction data (ad views and taps)
This data is collected for advertising and is shared with Google as the ad provider. Your pill schedule, history and notes are never shared with the ad provider. How Google uses data from apps that use its services is described here:
How to opt out or reset your ad identifier:
- Android: Settings → Google → Ads, where you can delete or reset your advertising ID and opt out of ad personalization.
- iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, and Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising.
The purchase removes the ads. After the one-time "remove ads" purchase, the app stops requesting and showing ads; on later launches the ad component is not initialized and no advertising data is collected.
Analytics and diagnostics
The app includes an analytics layer used to understand which features are used and to find and fix problems. Any analytics events are coarse and anonymous — they record actions like opening a screen, starting a new pack, or completing a purchase, and never include your pill-taking history, notes, reminder times, dates, or any health information.
If a future update adds an analytics or crash-reporting provider (for example Mixpanel or Google Firebase), that provider would receive only this anonymous usage and diagnostic data, tied to a random identifier — never your name, email, account, or health data, because none of those exist in the app. This policy will be updated to name any such provider before it is enabled.
Purchases
The one-time "remove ads" purchase ($3.99, a non-consumable in-app purchase) is processed entirely by Google Play or Apple's App Store. The app only receives the purchase confirmation; your payment details never reach the app. The store's own privacy policy governs that transaction.
Notifications
Reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device itself. There is no push server, and no notification or reminder data leaves your phone.
What the app does NOT do
- No accounts, no sign-in, no name or email collected
- Your pill schedule, history and notes are never transmitted anywhere
- No health data is sent to us or to any third party
- We do not sell your data
- The app's only network traffic is Google's ad component (free version), the app store's billing system, any future anonymous analytics provider, and links you choose to open (such as this page)
Children
The app is a birth control pill reminder intended for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
Data retention
Because your data lives on your device, it is kept until you remove it — by using "clear all data" in the app or by uninstalling the app, either of which deletes it permanently. Advertising data handled by Google is retained under Google's own policies linked above.
Not a medical device
Lady Pill Reminder is a reminder tool, not a medical device. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, and should be used as a support — not as your only reminder. Always follow your pill's leaflet and your doctor's or pharmacist's guidance.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at ladypill.benbasha.com/privacy with a new effective date.
